Looking on Google, what I have been calling pink touch-me-nots is actually Himalayan Balsam. Other names are policeman’s helmet and poor man’s orchid. They certainly resemble jewelweed or touch-me-nots, don’t you think?.
Are they not incredibly beautiful . . . even if they are an invasive species?

Apparently, each plant produces about 800 seeds, viable for up to two years.

A few plants bear pale, whitish blossoms while the majority are pink in colour
