Are you already thinking about Christmas? Not your shopping list, but are you questioning what Christmas is really all about?

During the Christmas shopping season, malls play beautiful, storytelling Carols of Bethlehem shepherds dazzled by the angels’ message that a Saviour had been born in the City of David—Christ the Lord. The shepherds would find the Babe lying in a manger . . . of all places.

Silent Night—perhaps the most loved Carol on the whole planet—tells of this very night.

Some Carols cause one to ponder how Mary and Joseph could possibly manage in a cattle shed the night of Jesus’ birth. There was no room for them in the inn—filled with others who were also obeying Caesar’s edict to pay taxes in their own city.

In some Carols, you can almost hear the hoofbeats of camels on the desert sands as they bore wisemen from the East, following a star to the very house where this Child now resided.

Very little is written about His youth, but at the age of 30, Jesus left His work as a carpenter, chose 12 men, and together they walked throughout the land of Israel, teaching in every town, village and synagogue. His compassion knew no limits. He healed multitudes of people of diseases—even those who were blind, crippled or mute from birth. Believe it or not, He raised some from the dead and cast out tormenting evil spirits.

At 33, the leaders of Israel—because of horrendous envy—stirred up the people and convinced the Romans to crucify Him. After three days, He rose from the sealed tomb and appeared to His shaken disciples and to many others before returning to Heaven, promising to return.

In his book, WE WOULD SEE JESUS, my husband endeavours to answer your question of what Christmas is really all about.

Throughout its chapters, Lloyd helps you feel as if you are having a personal interview with Jesus—up close—with your questions or presuppositions clearly answered.
